CONTROL OF TRAFFIC

Sensible regulation of traffic is another major concern of the Company, particularly in respect of the unauthorised use of the private roads. Control is maintained by the following measures:

• Some Estate gates are closed from time to time and others are manned, to exclude unauthorised traffic. But the installation of automatic mechanical barriers is anticipated.
• Residents are expected to display on the windscreens of their cars, annually renewable circulation permits obtainable from the BCER office (currently £10 each). A circulation permit is only available to those residents who have paid their Estate Charge in full.
• Non-resident visitors or tradesmen are required to display a clear notice in the windscreen of any vehicle parked on the Estate’s roads showing the address being visited and the date. Any vehicle which displays neither a permit nor a windscreen notice is liable to be clamped, for which the present release fee is £100.
• Please note that only cars displaying a current disabled badge are entitled to park in disabled bays. Any other vehicles (including those with circulation permits) are liable to be clamped.
• Vehicles that are parked on double yellow lines, verges or obstructing crossovers anywhere on the Cator Estate are liable to be clamped.
